 Stenograph: A Rolling SuccessAs a manufacturer of shorthand machine products, it has been our experience that many of our suppliers sell standard products using a well established methodology. While this is acceptable in some cases, when designing a new product it is important to have a partner who is willing to “think outside the box.” This was the case with our dual durometer roller component for one of our shorthand machines. This project had been in the development stage for many years and it took the creative thinking of the technical staff at Flexan working in concert with our engineers to bring it to market. Close collaboration with the Flexan team and their willingness to try new methods made this project a huge success.
In retrospect, this wasn’t a totally unexpected result. Flexan had previously delivered a custom material solution for another challenging project. They developed a noise dampening material for use in our paper trays. We had looked at several resources for material selection, and only Flexan was able to develop a compound which met our requirements. When we encounter obstacles during the product development process, we know we can depend on our close relationship with the Flexan Corporation for innovative solutions.
